It is clearly seen that timeless forms such as kimono, featuring various religious components, cultural values and mores in an original integrity even today in spite of the changes of time and geography, are unique resources in understanding the Japanese society form and palace life. Having a significant standing in the world and being exhibited in major museums, kimono collections have inspired many artists and designers. In addition to having an important position in wearable art concept, it has also influenced today’s fashion. In this article, it is presented how traditional kimonos have turned into artworks and unique designs with the interpretations of today’s designers.
