INVESTIGATION OF CONTRIBUTION TO SPORTS ECONOMY BY DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES IN CONTINUOUS FITNESS CENTERS ÖZEL FİTNESS MERKEZLERİNE DEVAM EDEN BİREYLERİN SPOR EKONOMİSİNE KATKISININ DEMOGRAFİK DEĞİŞKENLERE GÖRE İNCELENMESİ
The aim of this study is to demonstrate the contributions of individuals who attend to private fitness centers in İstanbul to the sports economics by analyzing their personal annual sports expenses empirically and determining whether the personal annual expenses of individuals differ according to their demographic and other factors. The study comprises of the data gathered from individuals with at least a year of membership from private fitness centers in İstanbul. The acquired data were analyzed by using SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) software. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H tests were conducted in the analysis stage. As a result of the conducted tests, it was concluded that the personal annual expenses of individuals demonstrated meaningful differences according to several demographic and other variables. It was understood that age, educational status, family income status, marital status, occupational variables are effective in these significant differences.
