Television broadcasting technologies are rapidly changing due to the developments in the information and communication (ICT) industry. The ICT industry, which has gained great momentum with digitalization, is living the golden age with the rise of the internet. In another dimension of this change is the diversification and differentiation of user demands. The desire of users who spend a significant part of their time with digital devices to access television broadcasts from digital media has also changed the way in which broadcast transmissions and content are viewed. In addition to this opportunity, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), one of the emerging new media, has provided users with the opportunity to interact. Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), a convergent example of communication, information processing and television broadcasting technologies, is a multimedia television service that includes a broad range of multimedia content, including internet, telephone, gaming, cellular, mobile and / or home network services, well beyond traditional cable television services. Apart from IPTV's multi-media service, it is the most important feature that distinguishes it from other broadcasting platforms is that it can program broadcast contents for the interests and needs of its users. With this feature, there is a confrontation as a structure that can interact with IPTV users. The study argues that IPTV, a digital media publishing platform, will strengthen its place in the convergent broadcasting technologies of the future and that television broadcasting will unite in a near future Internet-based common platform like IPTV. In the study, literature related to the topic was searched and the working principles of IPTV as well as digitalization, internet and other digital media platforms which are the basic building blocks were briefly explained.
