Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of Turkish teacher candidates towards writing education. Qualitative research designs of fenomonology is used in this research. The sample of the study is the students who take the Writing Education course which is taught at a state university in Marmara region. Semi-structured interview form was used as data collection tool in the research. The data were analyzed by content analysis. When the findings of the research were examined, it was seen that the students describe their writing skills with different metaphorical concepts. The answers given by prospective teachers are divided into the following topics: concepts that develop over time, situations with continuity, concepts of relaxation, a certain movement, concepts related to art, concepts related to object, communication, emotion, reflection and need.
