The liberal politics of the 1923-1930 period were replaced by statism after the worldwide economic crisis in 1929. The prominent features of the economic policy of this period, when there was insufficient capital accumulation and when the industrial investments were made by the state, were industrialization, promotion of domestic goods and saving. In order to publicize the industrial investments and promote the use of domestic goods and saving, the political power has used one of the most important means of mass media of the period- the posters and newspaper advertisement. Using the semiotics theory to analyze the posters of Ihap Hulusi Gorey reflecting the economic policy of that period, this study reveals that the economic developments of the young Turkish Republic and the main principles of the economic policy followed were publicized by these posters.},author={Ayla ACAR},year={2018},journal={The Journal of Social Sciences}}
