Abstract

This study was conducted to reveal the opinions of pre-school teacher candidates on Visual Arts Education course. The study was carried out with a case study of qualitative research methods. The study group consisted of 60 third and fourth grade students studying in Fırat University, Faculty of Education, Preschool Education Department. The semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers was applied to prospective teachers. Descriptive analysis was preferred for data analysis. Themes are formed on the basis of the sub-objectives determined based on the research questions. In the analysis of the data, categories and themes were reached by using N-Vivo analysis program. As a result, it is understood that the candidates have awareness about the importance of visual arts education course and that they have an effect on the previous experiences and knowledge of visual arts related to the course. Stated that they are uncomfortable with the lack of applications and expect to increase the applications for the field of pre-school education.
