Abstract

Symbol is something tangible object or mark, which means that remarks something can not state by sense and language, and also it interactions with the culturel life. Archetypes; means the first example and unique model, come togather and emerge new concepts. And then those archetypes are appeared by the symbols which have been seen in the conscious and dream. According to Jung, collective unconscious states the culturel phenomenons that has been brought from the fathers of the humans by the atavism and beared unconsciously. As a culturel product, in the folktales, there are various dreams. Understading symbolically and assuming that there is a hidden meaning of those dreams’ images is the basic priciple of the analytic psychology. It’s been on the carpet that the protagonist metamorphoses by dreaimg from the his own personality, to the minstrel personalty who plays a stringed instrument (saz) by falling in love. There are certain symbols of those metamorphosis in the dream. The goal of the work is collecting the symbols of some dreams in the Turish folktales. “Psychoanalytic Folklore Theory” has been used in the work. The symbols of goblet and wine, the lovers herself/himself or her/his picture, playing a stringed instrument (saz) and telling folk poem have been determined as connected in the examined folktales that the old man archetype which is both has been seen in dream and be represents the collective uncoscious.
