Abstract

With the introduction of the Internet into our lives, there have been changes in the field of information and communication technologies. With the emergence of new media areas and the increasing variety of social media platforms, they provided easy and fast access opportunities. Due to this rapid access, hate speech has become common in new media. In this study, hate speech produced in Ekşi Sözlük, which is a participant dictionary, is discussed. In the entry opened under the title of "People's Republic of China" in Ekşi Sözlük, the hate speeches of the People's Republic of China, which was limited to 678 comments made between 11-26 March 2020, were examined. The aim of the study is to reveal the hate speeches in the sharing of Ekşi Sözlük, which is called participatory dictionary, against the People's Republic of China. Content analysis method, a qualitative research method, was used in the study. The findings were examined by creating themes and codes with the 'MaxQda' program.
