Abstract

The maqam analysis of 6 songs composed by Şekip Ayhan Özışık, one of the most important song composers of the 20th century and worked as an oud artist for TRT for many years, is the main subject of this article. Besides having a superior talent in composing, Şekip Ayhan Özışık, who played the oud at a very good age, made significant contributions to Turkish music while leaving us at a young age and composed hundreds of works in various maqams. The life and composer personality of Şekip Ayhan Özışık was mentioned. In the findings section, the songs of the composer named “Açık Bırak Pencereni Örtme Perdeyi Bu Gece, Ben Seni Unuttum Desem de, Düşünme Öyle Derin, Ne Söylesem Nafile, İstanbul’da Boğaziçin’de, Senede Bir Gün songs were analyzed respectively.
