Abstract

Inadequate and poor quality nutrition in children can impair brain and cognitive functions in the program and affect their academic success. There are articles showing the relationship between regular consumption of children, especially breakfast, and academic success. Children who have a regular breakfast; Concentration, comprehension, recall and problem solving abilities were found to be better. Meal content affects academic success as well as the number of meals. . Various and adequate nutrition, adequate fruit and vegetable, micronutrients (protein, folate, iron, B vitamins, omega 3, polyunsaturated fatty acids) and fish consumption are associated with better academic results; It has been reported that children who consume more fruits, vegetables and home-prepared meals have better IQ and memory ability. Conversely, excessive consumption of low-quality foods (eg sugary foods, salty snacks, fast food) in children; Unhealthy dietary pattern, such as inadequate consumption of dairy products and foods with high nutritional value (eg vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, eggs) is associated with negative overall performance. Providing nutrition education in pre-school education institutions is very important for children to gain nutritional habits. Thanks to the nutrition education of preschool children; A healthy increase will be seen in the child's eating habits. Children who attend pre-school education institutions increase their knowledge of food groups, and positive developments are observed in their eating habits compared to children who do not. Children receive nutrition education in pre-school education institutions; It is reflected in the future lives of children. Children who receive education become healthier and more conscious than children who do not receive education; They complete their development positively by eating a balanced diet.
