" "X" ¯?_"age" =24.57 ± 5.48) participating races in the branch of freestyle and greco-roman and taking part in the preparetion camp of Turkish Youth and Senior National Team in season of 2014-2015 voluntarily participated in this study. ‘Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale’, ‘Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire’ and ‘General Self-Efficacy Scale’ were used to collect data. Spearman Rank-Order Correlation, Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests were used in the data analysis. The results of analysis indicated that general emotional intelligence levels of the national wrestlers were middle level, self-efficacy perceptions of the athletes were high level and task and ego orientations of wrestlers were middle level. It is identified that negative correlations at the low level between self-efficacy and adaptability to environment and requirements which is subscale of emotional intelligence (p<0.01), positive correlations at the middle level betweenself-efficacy and task orientation (p<0.01), and positive correlations at the low level between self-efficacy and ego orientation (p<0.05). Also analysis showed that the scores of intrapersonal (p<0.05), adaptability (p<0.05) and general mood (p<0.05) which are subscales of emotional intelligence differed significantly according to age while the scores of subscales of emotional intelligence did not differ significantly with regard to gender and the number of being national athletes (p<0.05). On the other side task and ego did not differ significantly with regard to age and the number of being national athletes (p>0.05), task orientation differed significantly in the male and females wrestlers (p<0.05). Furthermore, self-efficacy did not differ significantly gender, age and the number of being national athletes (p>0.05). The athletes have well-disciplined so they may need to make self-regulations and changes to adapt to this environment. Negative correlations between self-efficacy and adaptability to environment and requirements of the wrestlers can be explained by this situation. Goal orientations and self-efficacy related positively can be explained that the research group comprised of elite level wrestlers perceiving high self-efficacy in this process.},author={Burcu GÜVENDİ-- Ayşe TÜRKSOY - Nurgül KESKİN - Mustafa ŞAHİN},year={2016},journal={The Journal of Social Sciences}}
