Abstract

The focus of the study is on the adoption of e-government. In the most general sense, e-government can be expressed as applications that public institutions implement by using information and communication technologies. The e-government has the potential to contribute to public administration in many ways and to offer solutions to issues that have become chronic problems for public administrations. However, the potential contribution of the e-government can only emerge after the e-government has been adopted by the citizens. In this context, it has been investigated whether there is any meaningful effect on the adoption of the e-government by the trust of internet, trust of government and perceived risk variables in the study. For this aim, an area survey was conducted in Bursa scale within the scope of the study and 605 citizens residing in ten different provinces of Bursa were reached. As a result of the research findings, it has been found that trust of internet and perceived risk variables have no significant effect on e-government adoption. On the other hand, it is seen that the trust of government variable has a positive and significant effect on the adoption of e-government.
