Mostly necessarily, educational systems have included lessons with "visual arts" or similar names in programs that almost every level of education. In the Turkish education system, on the whole of primary school, secondary school and high school weekly lesson programs, visual arts lesson is located between both compulsory and elective lessons. The aim of the research is to evaluate the place of "Visual Arts" lesson in the Turkish Education System in terms of teaching programmes and weekly lesson schedules. In the research, a qualitative research design was adopted and research data were collected through document review. In the research, basic philosophy of visual arts lesson, general aims, learning areas and skills and gains related to these fields were put forth and necessary evaluations have been made. After that, the necessary procedures and evaluations have been made by indicating the place, number and weight of Visual Arts lesson in primary school, secondary school and high school weekly lesson programme.
