BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS ABOUT CUSTOM TARIFFS IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine 4930 studies, which is held between 1980 and 2019, in the field of economics about “Tariffs”. Bibliometric analysis is used in order to reveal the studies and trends on this subject. In this context, the studies carried out about “Tariffs” topic were searched and analyzed from Web of Science (WOS) database. The years of publication, languages, titles, authors, countries, and citation numbers of these 4930 studies were analyzed. In addition, social network analysis was conducted to determine the citation networks and subject orientations. It has been observed that the number of studies and the number of citations increased significantly after 2000. In the studies published, it was found that the US played a key role as a pioneer and the American Economic Review from the United States was the most cited journal. The study of Couture and Gagnon (2010) shows that this study has been the most cited reference point in recent years. Finally, the most common issues in tariff studies are politics, trade, international trade, model, market, competition, protection, renewable energy, and the USA.
