Abstract

Internet addiction is an important and common type of dependence in today's social structure. Internet addiction is an important problem at any age, but this situation is more risky in adolescence. Adolescents learn and develop internet addiction through various reasons. One of these types of learning is learning through model behavior under the heading of social learning theory. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of university students on the role of social learning in the development of internet addiction. The study was a qualitative study conducted with 15 university students. Interview technique was used as data collection tool. The results were evaluated by content analysis. Findings obtained from the research are as follows; the introduction of the Internet process has generally started in primary education and has continued in the high school period. In the process of internet start-up and addiction development, it was concluded that the most effective friends were influenced by the friends and the behaviors of the friends were modeled.
