This study was conducted to investigate the purpose, content, educational evaluation status of the elective ceramic workshop course given in the undergraduate programs of painting education and to examine the place of these approaches in painting education programs. The research was formed within the scope of qualitative research method. In the determination of the findings regarding the necessity and qualification status of the elective ceramic workshop course, interviews were conducted with the lecturers who gave elective ceramic workshop courses in Trakya University, Gazi University, Ordu University, Nineteen May University, Fırat University and Uludağ University. The interviews consisted of open-ended semi-structured questions were recorded by voice and in writing. Similar studies were examined through literature reviews and spatial inferences were obtained and the data obtained were included in the study in regular order. The findings were evaluated with content analysis method and recommendations were presented to the researchers.
