The city of Elbistan is located in the Upper Euphrates Section of the Eastern Anatolia Region of the Kahramanmaraş province in the northeast of the Mediterranean Region. The history of Elbistan, which cradled many civilizations, dates back to the Upper Paleolithic and Neolithic ages. It can be said that the Hittites, Romans, Seljuks and Dulkadirogullari had a stamp on the city's past. It is understood that the houses, which have survived in Elbistan and constitute the traditional civil architecture of the city, started to be built in Kızılcaoba, Ceyhan and Köprübaşı Neighborhoods since the second half of the 19th century. Before this period, the city, easy and cheap construction, abundant materials, because it allows the construction of flat, earth-roofed, adobe houses were built. This study of the cultural heritage and historical wealth of the important indicators of the traditional houses of the structural condition, architectural features, and the studies that should be done for the distribution of tourism in the province of Kahramanmaraş Elbistan City are discussed from a geographical perspective. Traditional houses in Elbistan district are the examples of architectural heritage with building materials, construction techniques, architectural features but not sufficiently recognized and not sufficiently recognized throughout the country. Although traditional houses have been identified and registered, these houses have not yet been preserved to protect the cultural heritage. and the provincial authorities need to give serious support to the efforts to bring traditional houses into tourism. used as a command center in Turkey will be converted into a museum house will be an important step in terms of preserving the heritage of the city and contributing to tourism. This study will also contribute to the preservation and evaluation of traditional houses by gathering the studies carried out in this field.
