Public space is defined as a common ground where people perform their daily actions, or their actions on special occasions, connecting society. In this effort, some equipment items such as sculptures, fountains and urban furniture have also emerged for use in public spaces. Public spaces are a concept used to refer to the common area of social activity in which thoughts, discourses and actions are produced and developed to determine and realize the common good of society. The arrangement of these public spaces and the elements used in these areas, also called urban furniture today, have developed through history due to movements such as building movements, design movements, policy, economy, socio-cultural changes. The beginnings of the organization of urban public space and the introduction of urban equipment item is seen in an intensive way in Westernization/ Modernization process in Turkey.
