Abstract

The idea of Jadidism emerged as a consideration prescribing innovations in the field of education among Turkic people to catch up with global developments. It had spread rapidly and became an activity which could influence the whole Turkic nations. Various reforms such as instructions of mental sciences were introduced in the field of education within the frameworks of the idea. The starting point of these novelties was the improvement of stable old-style schools through providing their adaptation to developments in the world and the deactivation of the Russification activities, where the main aim of the Tsarist Russia was the elimination of national values of the Turkic people. Outstanding Turkic thinkers of that period like Ismail Gaspirali showed significant work at this point. The idea of Jadidism had rapidly spread among Turkestan people and new schools were founded. The old-style schools were renewed and equipped with practice-based sciences in compliance with modern necessities. In this study reasons of emergence of Jadidism and the Usul-I Jadid Schools, the product of Jadidism, were analyzed. Social and political structure of Turkestan in this period and Ismail Gaspirali were studied as well. In this study literature review method was used
